Kota Kinabalu: The incident on Wednesday where passengers were stuck at the KKIA skybridge for about 10 minutes after disembarking from the aircraft has been attributed to a mechanical fault.
“I saw a video that went viral showing many tourists queuing up because of mechanical issues,” said State Tourism, Culture, and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew after launching the Careline Chatbot developed by the Sabah Tourism Board (STB) at the Sabah International Convention Centre.

“These are the things we must keep improving. Otherwise, we are not doing our job. If we bring tourists to Sabah but our facilities are not upgraded it’s not good for us,” she said.
She added that the hard work of the Sabah Tourism Board in marketing Sabah worldwide would be disappointing if facilities are not up to par when tourists arrive.
