RANAU: The Sinarut A team emerged as champions in the football event in conjunction with the Indoor Sports Carnival organised by Wiramuda and Wiranita Star Paginatan held at Padang Kg. Kigiok is near here.
In the event, the Star Paginatan team won second place while the Matan Team came third.

In another event, Team Pavolt won the volleyball event, while second place went to Team KVRC Barbara and third place were Silou A.
The Indoor Sports Carnival which was held for a day also featured a slingshot event which is becoming more and more popular among the youth and the community here.
The event was officiated by the Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister who is also Paginatan Assemblyman and Star Sabah Party Vice President, Datuk Abidin Madingkir.
In his speech he congratulated the Wiramuda wing and Wiranita Star Paginatan for successfully organising another district-level Sports Carnival tour at the Paginatan State Assembly level.

“The Tanah Rata Mukim Sports Carnival is the second organised after the Paginatan and Paus Mukim Sports Carnival held last month.
“In every event, it gets a really encouraging response from the youth from the surrounding villages.

“Congratulations to Wiramuda and Wiranita Star Paginatan for successfully organising the Sports Carnival for the second time,” he said.
According to Abidin, seeing such an encouraging response this time shows that the organisers have achieved their goals and are very successful.
He added that the organisation of a sports carnival can certainly strengthen the relationship between the participants and the leadership as well as the villagers.
“The participation of the participants in all the contested events shows that the youths here always practice a healthy lifestyle.
“It also indirectly allows participants to show their talent and abilities in the contested events.
“Sports carnivals like this can also unearth talent that can be highlighted at a higher level.
“The event also somewhat reduces, even prevents the youth from falling into unwanted activities which are social problems,” he said.
Abidin also expressed his highest appreciation to the leadership of Kg. Kigiok, especially the Village Head Ahidi Kasaman and the JKKK Chairman for allowing Wiramuda and Wiranita Star Paginatan to use the Kg field as the venue for football and volleyball competitions at this sports carnival.
Also present were Special Officers to Datuk Abidin Madingkir, Juis Konsuling, CDO, Jipili Sigal, Head of Wiranita Star, Siti Nurjana Abas, Head of Wiramuda Star, Hillary Salmoen, Organising Chairman, Alfian Sahadi, Tanah Rata Mukim Developer, Lasius Golipoi, local leaders and Custom Holders.
