Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Information Department (JaPen) uses several ethnic languages to promote various programmes during the National Month.
Sabah JaPen Deputy Director Supian Musa said that in addition to the Bajau Samah language, JaPen would also try to make announcements in other ethnic languages such as Murut, Kadazan, Rungus, East Coast Bajau and Bisaya.
“Using various languages with strategic collaboration including with SabahVfm can attract more people to participate in various national activities.
“Nationalist messages delivered in the local dialects can easily reach the target group, not to mention radio broadcasts interspersed with patriotic songs,” he said after the SabahVfm Bajau talk programme on the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) 2024, Wednesday.
During the radio interview, Supian said in addition to the land route, the KMJG convoy would also travel to Berhala Island in Sandakan with the help and cooperation of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency.
“This is to invigorate the spirit of flying the Jalur Gemilang, not only on the mainland but also on islands in Sabah.

“In addition, the KMJG participants will also board the train to Tenom with the message that we should be proud to be Malaysians with education, economy and security,” he explained.
He also said among the contents of the KMJG 2024 programme is the Kunak Pintu Keceriaan Kemerdekaan where the entire Lor Malong Village becomes a landmark decorated with the Sabah Flag and Jalur Gemilang.
The KMJG 2024 convoy involves 60 participants, 18 vehicles and 14 agencies including the Sabah Maju Jaya Secretariat who will explain the current initiatives to the community.
