SANDAKAN: A 20-year-old lorry driver sustained injuries in an accident involving a lorry and four-wheel drive vehicle along Jalan Batu 28, Sandakan, last Friday.

The State Fire and Rescue Department reported receiving an emergency call about the incident at 6.21pm via the Mers 999.

Eight members of the Fire and Rescue Station personnel were dispatched to the scene, approximately 43km away.

Upon arrival, the team found both vehicles had skidded off the road due to the slippery surface. The lorry driver suffered injuries to his leg, while the four-wheel drive vehicle driver was uninjured.

The victim was given initial treatment at the scene and the operation ended at 5.40pm.
