Sabahan youths told to take part in Human Resource Development Department courses
The Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QAQC) Course is the only course located in Kulim, Kedah for a period three months applicable to SPM, STPM, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree holders aged 18 to 35.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s youths are invited to participate in courses organised by the Human Resource Development Department (JPSM) before next Friday (August 16).

According to its spokesperson, Mahathir Kajul, the courses would give useful knowledge for the sake of their respective careers in the future.

Most courses are provided in Kota Kinabalu with accommodation and with job prospects upon completion.

Among the courses organised are the Level 3 Regional Tour Guide Course (RSTG) for Sabah citizens aged 18 to 35 with SPM and STPM. The course starts from Nov 1 to Feb 28 2026.

The Diploma Course in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts (City & Guilds) provides a variety of training and is open to youth and young adults aged 18 to 35 who have SKM Level 2. The nine-month course is open to women and men starting Nov 1.

Applications for the six-week Divemaster Course open to Sabahans (male and female) with SPM or STPM, Diploma and Bachelor’s degree aged 18 to 35.

The Sabah Industry Led Professional Course (SIPC) Programme takes one month open to men and women aged 18 to 35.

Applicants can also apply for the Animation Course (Toon Boom) open to those who have SPM, STPM, Diploma or Bachelor’s certificate and undergo the course for six months.

The three-month Software Development Course is also open to men and women aged 20 to 35 and with SPM, STPM, Diploma or Bachelor’s degree.

The one-month Offshore Training Basic Slinging & Ringing and Blaster Painter or Scaffolding Courses are also open for Sabahans aged 20 to 35 years old and with UPSR, PMR and SPM qualifications. It will start from Nov 1.

JPSM also provides Level 2 nine-month Pastry Making Course reserved for men and women with disabilities (OKU) but there is no accommodation.

The Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QAQC) Course is the only course located in Kulim, Kedah for a period three months applicable to SPM, STPM, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree holders aged 18 to 35.

Mahathir said there would be insurance for all courses and participation fee is free.

“JPSM welcomes the participation of youths in Sabah to gain beneficial knowledge for their own needs in order to create a brighter future.

“Applicants can contact me at 088-218722 (Extension 125) or Mohd Azuan Azman on extension 110,” he said.
