Kunak folks happy with ATM at supermarket
The first ATM machine installed in a supermarket in Kunak.
KUNAK: The installation of an automatic teller machine (ATM) in a supermarket here has made it more convenient for the public to access banking services. 

The ATM is located inside the Servay Supermarket in Kunak and is one of the first ATMs to be provided in a public area outside of banking premises.

The machine became operational on Thursday and offers a range of services including cash withdrawals, cash deposits, balance inquiries and money transfers.

Kasim Ajirul, expressed his satisfaction with the new facility, saying it makes banking tasks easier for customers.

A retired government employee Abdul Lahil Sarail, said the facility aligns with the government’s goal of ensuring quick and easy access to banking services, especially for target groups.

 “With CCTV monitoring, these ATM machines can be used safely and will benefit customers,” he said.

In addition to the ATMs available at the two banks in the area, Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) and Maybank, the new ATM in the supermarket provides an alternative mechanism for facilitating transactions, reducing the need to wait in long queues.

“Most importantly, these ATMs are expected to operate reliably at all times,” he said.

Last year, the Daily Express published complaints from users in Kunak who requested additional ATM facilities, whether within banking premises or other public buildings frequented by customers.
