New Sabah Attorney-General calls on Juhar

Kota Kinabalu: Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin received a courtesy call from the new Sabah Attorney-General Datuk Brenndon Keith Soh at Istana Seri Kinabalu here Tuesday.
The purpose of the visit was to inform Juhar about his appointment as the State Attorney-General to replace Datuk Nor Asiah Mohd Yusof, who is now the Legal Adviser to the Chief Minister, with effect from July 2.
ADVERTISEMENT “In addition to introducing ourselves, we also explained the main objectives of the State Attorney-General Chambers, gave some advice on some issues including legislative amendments and MA63 as well as some cases currently being heard in court.
“We will also provide advisory services to Juhar from time to time for issues related to the constitution and other laws.
“Our vision is to become a centre of excellence. As a body that provides legal advice to the Government, we need to have high standards, especially in integrity and professionalism.
“Whatever we do, it is important that we give the best advice so that the Government can make the right decision especially when it comes to the law,” he said after the visit.
ADVERTISEMENT Brenndon said the role of the State Attorney-General’s Chambers is now becoming more significant and he would try to provide the best for the interests of Sabah and its people.
Also present were his deputies Dayangku Fazidah Hatun Pg. Bagul and Suzumaidah Hussain as well as Head of Litigation Division Mohd Saifurrazee Mohamed @ Hussin.
