Kota Kinabalu: The Fire and Rescue Station in Shah Alam shared an unusual incident on their Facebook page Thursday - the capture of 28 baby pythons and one adult one inside a drainage channel near a restaurant.
A fire tender was dispatched Wednesday to the location in the case classified as "Special Service Snake" after then station received a call.
ADVERTISEMENT Upon arrival and after conducting a thorough assessment, the team discovered that “there were indeed snakes found inside the drainage channel.”
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar later said 28 baby pythons and one adult one were captured in the drainage channel, Buletin TV3 reported.
“The baby pythons were estimated to be about half a metre long, while the adult python measured around two metres,” he said.
Ahmad said all the pythons were captured using snare traps, adding the operation took 12 minutes and the pythons were released to a safer place.

The Facebook post quickly gained attention with 879 netizens reacting, 690 comments, and 1,600 shares, many expressing shock at the accompanying photos.
