Kota Kinabalu: The Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) says it has been a busy year so far.
Its president Richard Lim said in June, they were invited by the Shandong Municipal Government to attend the official opening of the 4th Korea (Shandong) Import Commodities Fair in China.

“FSI led a delegation of more than 30 businessmen from Sabah to Xiamen for this expo as the organiser provided 3 night’s hotel accommodation, transportation and 1000 RMB per person for travel expenses.
“And just two days ago, FSI was invited by Messes Frankfurt for their Automechanika show as their VIP guest for their official opening at KLCC Convention Centre on 1 Aug.
“FSI might be bringing in a new version of the show to Sabah very soon, so stay tuned,” he said

It was also their very first Sabah Industries Recognition Ceremony which is the Sabah Industry Entrepreneurs Excellence Award (SIEEA) 2024.

He added that they are also preparing for the 11th Sabah International Expo 2025 he hinted will be held in 3 months.
“FSI has full confidence that it will be successfully organised again with the State Government’s support and the usual close cooperation from MICCI Sabah.
“We have been working together for the past 20 years since year 2000 which is a history for SIE,” he said.
Officiating the night was Sabah Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship (Mide) Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe who commended FSI for their relentless efforts in promoting industrial growth.
“Your dedication to recognizing and nurturing talent within our local industries is truly commendable,” he said.
Speaking of the congestions at the ports, he said the silver lining is that the Sabah is experiencing rapid development and is keeping up.
“Kibing is expected to ship 100 containers every day staring this September and even now it ships 20 every day,” he said.
