Shafie’s advice to Semporna folks

“The responsibility for maintaining security should not rest solely with the security forces, as residents have a better understanding of the real situation in their surroundings," Shafie said.
SEMPORNA: Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal urged Semporna residents to support the security forces by reporting any criminal activities to help keep the area safe.
Shafie said cooperation from all parties is essential to ensure that Semporna remains a world-famous tourist destination.

He said information provided by residents enables the security forces to take prompt action.
“The responsibility for maintaining security should not rest solely with the security forces, as residents have a better understanding of the real situation in their surroundings.
“Therefore, I urge local residents to act as the eyes and ears of the security forces and report information to ensure the area remains safe and peaceful,” he said at the Leader-People sessions in Kg Kubang Pinang, here.
Also present were Sulabayan Assemblyman Datuk Jaujan Sambakong and Bugaya Assemblyman Jamil Hamzah.

Meanwhile, Shafie, a Semporna MP expressed concern about the state administration’s perceived insensitivity to the people’s issues. He noted that many citizens have raised grievances about basic infrastructure problems, such as clean water supply and electricity rationing.
“I hope that issues affecting the people can be resolved promptly because we do not want the people to be burdened by these problems,” he said.
