TAWAU: More than 2,000 runners including participants from 15 foreign countries will compete for some RM60,000 in prizes at an inaugural edition of the Tawau Marathon 2024 running event scheduled for August 18 at Padang Bandaran Tawau.

Chairman of the Tawau Runners Club Dulmi Mular, said among the foreign runners who have confirmed participations are from Ethiopia, Kenya, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, the United States (USA), Belgium, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia and Brunei.
ADVERTISEMENT In addition to local runners from all over the State, he said, the club also received participations from Sarawak and almost all states from the peninsula.
