Rhinos look to have rediscovered scoring touch
Defender Daniel Ting then extended the lead with a towering header for the third goal following a corner kick in the 35th minute.
SABAH FC brought home three valuable points when they made a stunning comeback to overcome a gritty Sri Pahang FC 3-2 at the Temerloh Stadium on Friday.

It seemed that Sabah FC are getting back their scoring touch based on the three-goal first half performance.

The first 45 minutes was dramatic with the home side scoring as early as in the 5th minute through their import player Kpah Sherman as the result of our lethargic start.

We were one goal down before we can even say boo but credit goes to the players in putting the early setback behind.

It was an immediate response from the team as they mounted attacks to find the equaliser and was rewarded in the 20th minute when Jafri Chew now taking over the place of the departed Ramon Machado made the breakthrough with a grounder to beat the opposition’s goalkeeper.

Six minutes later, we took the lead against all odds with a fine finish from Mohd Farhan Roslan.

Defender Daniel Ting then extended the lead with a towering header for the third goal following a corner kick in the 35th minute.

The second half was more intense as Sri Pahang FC backed by the home crowd managed to score early to reduce the deficit.

Despite the immense pressure, it was good to see Sabah FC managed to hold out until the final whistle  for a well earned victory.

The whole team deserved a pat on the back for an outstanding disciplined display and it was also good to see Darren Lok finally back in the starting lineup and had a hand in the first goal.

I am really happy for Sabah FC. Despite not fielding the first choice eleven for the match, we did secure a fine victory and it was away from home as well.

We couldn’t have asked for more from a depleted squad especially after the painful 0-3 loss to Kuala Lumpur City FC only days earlier. There are of course still some flaws in the defence.

This will need to be rectified for our next tough game and I am certain Datuk Ong Kim Swee is working on it.

Meanwhile, there was still no sign of Saddil Ramdani on the team sheet. I am wondering when he will return to action.

Hopefully there are no more injuries to other players in the team as I expect a real battle in our next home game against Selangor FC at Likas Stadium tomorrow (Tuesday).
