“We must be grateful that Malaysians of various religion, race and culture have united their efforts, combined their energies, build one citizen and one nation that has now become an example of success.

“We must be grateful because we have been able to lift millions of people out of poverty.

“We must be grateful for the prosperity enjoyed by so many citizens, prosperity that is still a dream for so many people in many countries around the world.

“We must be grateful because from a country that had many reasons for conflict, from a country that faced threats from within and without, we have succeeded in building a peaceful and stable, prosperous and harmonious nation,” he said when speaking at the official launch of the KMJG Programme for Beaufort District 2024, here, recently.

He added that the cry of independence must be complemented by actions to develop a prosperous and respected nation.

“The cry of independence has been echoed for 67 years and that cry will continue to be echoed forever, as long as there is a moon and as long as there is a sun.

“That cry is not just answered with a shout, that cry is given meaning and significance, complemented with action, refined with movement, guided by a recipe to develop a nation that is truly sovereign and noble, advanced and prosperous, united and integrated, respected and admired,” he said.

Nazri was accompanied by Sabah Information Director, Jainisah Mohd Noor, to several departments at the Beaufort District Federal Building.

He also officiated the flag-off ceremony for the KMJG 2024 Convoy, which was participated in by strategic partners of the State Information Department.
