LABUAN: Labuan Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman, Datuk Dahlif Singh, said Budget 2025 that will be tabled by the Madani Government in October offers a splendid opportunity to dispel the gloom over the island.
Dahlif noted that since it has been acknowledged that Labuan is under-performing as a Federal Territory, “the Budget should incorporate something special to boost the economy as more visits alone would not resolve issues.”

He was referring to the regular visits by the Prime Minister, ministers and deputies.
Dahlif added that what Labuan needs is a cheerful budget with lost duty-free perks during the previous government. Such duty-free cigarettes should be restored.
