Kota Kinabalu: A Kota Belud tourism village was recently featured on Planetarium Negara’s Instagram as one of the best meteor shower viewing spots.
The Perseid meteor shower was believed to have peaked at 9pm tonight, Aug. 12.
Instagram user @withregram wrote about @darkskymalaysia's meteor shower outing activity in Kota Belud.
“Natural fireworks by Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle this coming August.
“We are expecting around 100 meteors per hour (according to the International Meteor Organisation),” the user said.
The activity in Tegudon Tourism Village included a briefing on the phenomenon and ways to capture the night sky using a smartphone.
