Kota Kinabalu: An ambulance operations head has recounted in Facebook a courageous mother who recently survived a fall down a 10m-deep ravine after being pushed by her husband in an alleged murder attempt.
Muhammad Ridzuan Osman DikWan said it was sad to hear of the incident on a road from Kuala Lumpur to Perak.
“For nine hours, she tried to save herself after being pushed into a ravine more than 10 metres deep, with her spine broken and her hands and lungs also hurt,” he wrote.
Ridzuan said the ustazah stayed strong and climbed all the way up the ravine because she remembered her young children, five months and six years old.
“She was pushed down the ravine at around 5am and at 2pm, she managed to ask the public for help on the road,” Ridzuan wrote, asking netizens to pray for her speedy recovery.
Reports said the victim was taken to the Emergency Unit of Gerik Hospital for initial treatment.
Ridzuan was entrusted with transporting the woman to her hometown in Kelantan after she was discharged from Taiping Hospital.
The suspect is reportedly being investigated under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, Minor Offences Act and Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
