Kota Kinabalu: Preparations for the Malaysia Day celebration to be held on Sept 16 at Padang Merdeka here are proceeding smoothly, said Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

He said Sabah is hosting this year’s celebration, which will begin at 8pm and feature several exciting activities and performances.

He said the event will include cultural performances, traditional and contemporary songs, as well as exhibitions highlighting the history of Malaysia’s formation and key aspects related to the nation.

“There are some protocol-related aspects that we will witness every Malaysia Day (Sept 16), but at the same time, there will be additional activities, particularly cultural performances.
