RM10,000 for Kampung Sosogoh Tagal

NABAWAN: Nabawan Assemblyman Datuk Abdul Ghani Mohamed Yassin has contributed RM10,000 to the Community Tagal of Kampung Sosogoh, Pagalugan.
He announced the contribution during a visit last Friday to inspect the development of the village’s community tagal, which is being established.

Ghani, who is also Sabah Land Development Board (LKTNS) Chairman, said the assistance aimed to support the development of the Kampung Sosogoh community tagal, which is being designed as a resort and tourism centre.
He noted that the tagal site has excellent potential to attract visitors due to its location on the route between the Pagalugan sub-district and other districts in the State.
“Moreover, once the route between Pagalugan and Indonesia’s new capital in Nusantara, Kalimantan, is completed, it will certainly become a key destination and stopover,” he said.
He also said if it is successful, the tagal site can generate income for the local community and attract visitors from outside.

This is because residents can engage in business activities, including marketing local products such as handicrafts.
The Kampung Sosogoh community tagal will be developed through the smart pilot project under the Agriculture and Food Security Ministry, which is in collaboration with the State Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry Ministry, the Department of Fisheries Malaysia, and the Department of Fisheries Sabah.

Deputy Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, who is also Pensiangan Member of Parliament, will officially launch the project on Aug 17.
