Kota Kinabalu: More than 5,000 people are expected to take part in the National Sports Day (HSN) 2024 event scheduled on October 12 at the Keningau Sports Complex starting at 7am.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor is scheduled to officiate the Sabah-level national programme.

Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ellron Angin said they are targeting senior citizens aged 60 above, veterans (40-60), youth and adults (13-30), people with disabilities (OKU) as well as women and children.
“HSN2024 will highlight the concept of Malaysia Madani new sports and people’s sports for the unification of well-being and uphold the principle of mutual respect.
“It is to increase community involvement and participation in sports activities towards comprehensive sports culture through the implementation of comprehensive sports programmes, and to create a vibrant and active community.
“It is also aimed to nurturing the spirit of unity among people of various races as well as to encourage the national economy through the development of the sports industry,” he said on Tuesday after chairing the first organising committee meeting.
The activities involved in this year’s programme include aerobics, run for the country, HSN ride, Ria Madani walk, mega aerobics challenge, traditional sports and others.
Participation is free and prizes are available for several key activity entries and each participant will receive a digital certificate or e-Cert HSN 2024.
