Sabah’s General Operations Force is always on alert

LAHAD DATU: Sabah’s General Operations Force (PGA) always strives to improve its skills, including sea combat to strengthen readiness in facing any form of threat.
PGA Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Security and Public Order (KDNKA), DCP Datuk Mohamad Suzrin Mohamad Rodhi, said the effort is carried out through continuous training.
ADVERTISEMENT “This training is to produce PGA officers and policemen who are skilled in combat.”
He said this at the closing event of the Sabah Sea Combat Brigade Basic Course Series 1-2024 at Pantai Payang, recently.
Also present were Sabah PGA Brigade Commander, Datuk Abdul Rani Alias, and Esscom Special Forces Chief of Staff, SAC Mohd Nasaruddin M Nasir.
According to him, a total of 40 officers and members of the PGA and Marine Police Force completed the training that include physical, survival, technical at sea and all elements under KDNKA.
ADVERTISEMENT The 30-day course involved 17 trainers led by the Commanding Officer of PGA Battalion 17 Lahad Datu, Superintendent Victor Cardona.
“The objective of this course is to update knowledge of sea combat to prepare for assignments in the respective battalions, especially during patrols and operational assignments.

“It also gives exposure on sea combat elements related to new techniques,” he added.
Mohamad Suzrin congratulated those involved for having successfully achieving all the goals of the event.
