Kota Kinabalu: Reigning 2023 NDS Borneo Series champion, Benedict Paul completed a career milestone by snatching the overall champion’s title of the recently concluded National Drift Series (NDS) Grand Prix 2024, last Sunday in Kuala Lumpur.

The 33-year-old State drifter representing FRT took home his first ever national title to join the elusive group of Sabah’s drifters that ever won such accolades in the past, as he bounced back from a disappointing fourth round finish during the final round to take home the King of NDS 2024 champions’ trophy and RM10,000 in cash prize.

Tambunan’s Benedict who is also known as Ben Akispeed, accumulated a total of 385 points throughout the five-round championship to dethrone the two-time defending champion, Lee Mun Hong of Team Westlake Superstar Suzuka, who finished with 374 points.

“Finally I could breathe a sigh of relief as it was very competitive among several top drifters where the top three finishers separated by a mere 12 points between the three of us.
