Tuaran: Walai Alap will become an operational centre to strengthen activities of the Association of Women and Members of the Public Service (Puspanita) Tuaran district branch here.
Walai Alap is a combination of Dusun and Bajau ethnic terms which means a good and useful house and it started operating since January this year.

Its Chairperson Beverly Lee said the house would facilitate implementation of activities especially related to women.
She said many activities are planned, especially related to femininity such as skills workshops and also workshops that generate income for women.

The Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Juliah Salag who is also the Patron of Puspanita Sabah officiated the event.
Meanwhile, Beverly said in terms of welfare, Puspanita also extends help to those in need.
“Puspanita also provides assistance to those in need, for example victims of the recent flood disaster, in addition to orphans and poor families.
“In addition to donating, we also provide help in terms of moral support,” she said.
Also present were Sabah Puspanita Chairperson Datin Seri Dr Nuinda Alias, Tuaran District Officer Hadzlan Jablee who is also Puspanita Tuaran District Advisor and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development Datuk Norlijah Danin.
