LAHAD DATU: All quarters are urged to work hand in hand in realising the government’s aspirations to produce a knowledgeable, high quality human capital particularly in Sabah.
State Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif said the State Government provides various initiatives and assistance to strengthen education performance in line with Sabah Maju Jaya.
He said the Sabah Special Tasks Minister’s Vessel and Charity Programme (WAM 2-Care) is one of the initiatives implemented to empower education and schools in the state.
A total of RM40 million was channelled by the Sabah state government for the WAM-2 Care Programme which offers various educational assistance initiatives for the people.
“In conjunction with this programme, some 53 Parent and Teacher Associations (PIBG) in this district received donations through the Sabah PIBG Activity Assistance (Bagus) which is expected to help PIBG to carry out their respective activities,” he said at the programme on Saturday.
He said the Sstate Government also provides assistance such as Bantuan Ihsan Sekolah Sabah (Bisbah) which is equipment assistance to launch learning and teaching activities in schools.
Arifin reiterated that the State Government also provides initiatives such as Sabah State Education Fund Courtesy Assistance (Bistari), Special Examination Cash Assistance (Bakti), Sabah Student Excellence Special Award (Aksa), IPT Registration Cash Assistance (Budi), Courtesy Computer Assistance (Baik) Small School Maintenance Assistance (BalkisS) and various other initiatives in an effort to empower education in this state.
“The State Government is always concerned with the needs of education in this state. Therefore, I call for us to work hand in hand to realise the aspirations and wishes of the government to empower education and produce excellent and knowledgeable human capital,” he added.
At the event, Arifin presented a replica of a check to several education-related departments, including for the poor (asnaf) groups, which was presented to the Lahad Datu District Office for RM1.8 million.
