RANAU: Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam refuted claims he only emerges (turun padang) during the election time.
He said consistent efforts were made to serve the people of Kundasang and the State.

Joachim, who is also Local Government and Housing Minister cum Kundasang Assemblyman, was speaking at a “Leaders’ Gathering” in Kg Karagasan where he met residents from seven villages within the Karagasan Voting District (PDM).
Addressing allegations that he only appears during the election time, Joachim clarified that he has made several visits to the PDM.

During the two-day visit, he inspected the site of the Kampung Gusi mini community hall that will be built this year.
He also delivered food baskets to the villagers before launching the new community hall in Kg Agan.
Joachim highlighted the Government’s numerous development projects implemented for the benefit of the people such as roads and electricity as well as clean water supply.
“This includes in the Kundasang state constituency, where ongoing projects involve roads leading to SMK Ulu Sugut, PDM Kaingaran and to Mini Estate Sejahtera (Mesej) Kg Mansalu.
“Such development will be continued by the ruling Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)-led government,” he said.
He advised the villagers in the PDM to support whoever is nominated by Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in the coming state election.
Also present were his Political Secretary Yubidi Gompoyo, District Chief I OKK Muhasip Ruman, District Chief II Dominic Ganie, Mukim Developer Ratimin Kokonut, Deputy Head of Natives (WKAN) Ajip Basanun aas well as community chiefs and leaders.
