Silat leads Sabah gold rush

The sepak takraw players celebrate with team officials after winning a total of five gold medals in the competition.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah won their most number of gold medals in a day since the start of the 21st Sarawak Sukma on Friday.
Razfadhlur
They took home nine with pencak silat contributing four through Muhd Razfadhlur Rahman Razaineh who took the silat men’s class B (50-55kg) title after beating Mohamad Ridhuan Sulaiman of Federal Territories 40-30 in the final.
Tarmizal
ADVERTISEMENT Muhd Razfirdaus Razaineh followed suit with a 41-35 victory over Kedah’s Muhammad Saiful Hazim Mazukhi in the men’s class C (55-60kg), Awangku Tarmizal Ag Tamin in the men’s class D (60-65kg) with the 26-25 defeat of Muhd Adam Tajudin from Kedah and Muhd Hassan Mahmood’s 39-19 win over Federal Territories’ Megat Razman Abd Rahman @ Ab Rahman in the men’s 85-90kg.
Sailing also did extremely well with three from Muhd Asnawi Iqbal in the men’s ILCA 6, Zeti Irdina in the women’s ILCA 4 and Marcella Wilson in women’s techno.
Marcella
The rest of the gold medal winners were the lawn bowls men’s four of Asmirul Arispadillah, Asnirul Arispadillah, Elldy Maxcanzie Zosmi, Mohammad Raihan Norkizan, Nur Azami Azlie who beat the Perak team 15-9, the sepak takraw women’s regu team comprising Azeira Lusian, Siti Hadifitri Navilla Jumidil, Siti Norliafitri Musmuliadi and reserves Ernawati Budin and Nur Syafikah Andi with their 15-8,15-6 win over Selangor.
The Sabah contingent also took home 10 silvers and five bronzes.

The silvers came from Kasman Kasim (men’s long jump), the men’s 4 x 100m team (Mark Paladius, Dexter Bedie Manuel, Pengiran Aidil Auf Hajam @ Pg. Roslie, Hannsen Yap Soon Fu), Lucqmann Racheed (sailing men’s techno), Mohd Syahieradham (sailing men’s ILCA4), Nur Awatif/Nur Hafizanathanani (sailing women’s INT.420), the women football team, Chu Xin Yin (swimming women's 1,500m freestyle), Muhd Afif Aiman Affendy (lawn bowl men’s singles), the women lawn bowls triples team (Adilah Justine, Nur Zarifah Wajihah Zaidi Nurafeqah Qhalisah Alham, Nurnajmi Jannah Jali @ Jalit) and three from pencak silat’s Safia Umairah Hussin (women’s under-45kg), Rirzlynn Edelya Edtasha Ahmad Rozi (women’s class A) and Nur Ilyana Natasyah Abdullah (women’s class C).
The bronze medals were from Mohd Shahieran/Mohd Aiman Adam (sailing INT.420), Loo Yie Bing (swimming women’s 50m freestyle), Muhammad Alianafiah (weightlifting men’s 96kg), Hizillawanty Jamain (athletics women’s 800m) and Nabil Faiz Ayub (athletics men’s hammer throw).
