Temporary closure of Kota Kinabalu roads, parking lots
As a convenience to the public, the KK Sentral multi-storey car park will be opened without charge according to the times and dates stated above. South Sone Bus passengers will be dropped off/picked up at the Asia City bus stop in front of the Centre Point Sabah building.
Kota Kinabalu: Several main roads and parking lots here will be temporarily closed to make way for the National Day parade and Sabah Day 2024 celebration, including rehearsals, from Aug 27 to 31.

City Hall (DBKK), in a statement Friday, said the rehearsals for both events are scheduled on Aug 27, 28 and 29, while final preparations will be made on Aug 30 (Friday) and the events to take place on Aug 31 (Saturday).

On Aug 27, 28, 29 and 31, from 5am to noon, the following roads will be temporarily closed: 

(i) Left lane of Coastal Road from the Sutera Harbour exit to KK Times Square;

This event coincides with its proposed listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Bursa Securities"), scheduled for 30 April 2025.
(ii) Left lane of Jalan Mentari from the junction heading to KK Times Square to the Sedco roundabout, Wawasan Plaza;

(iii) Jalan Centre Point, Lorong Api-Api 2 and Lorong Wawasan Plaza.

On Aug 27, 28, 29 and 30, from 5am to noon, on Aug 30 from 10pm to noon and on Aug 31, among the roads to be temporarily closed are:

(i) Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens: Involving the Sedco roundabout, Wawasan Plaza to the Centre Point Sabah traffic lights.

(ii) On Aug 27 to 31 from 5am to noon, a location at South Zone Bus Stop, Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens, opposite Marina Court.

“As a convenience to the public, the KK Sentral multi-storey car park will be opened without charge according to the times and dates stated above.

“South Sone Bus passengers will be dropped off/picked up at the Asia City bus stop in front of the Centre Point Sabah building,” said the statement.

DBKK advises the public to obey the instructions of the law enforcement officers on duty and use alternative roads to ensure safety and smooth traffic.
