State Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Assistant Minister Peto Galim.
Kota Kinabalu: Twenty state ministries and agencies received the Sabah Flag in conjunction with Sabah Day 2024 on Aug 31.

State Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Assistant Minister Peto Galim said the handing over of the flags was significant to further strengthen the celebration which will be celebrated for the first time by the people in Sabah.

“Sabah Day is a day that many people still do not know, even among politicians who make this issue a debate.

“We have a responsibility to tell our staff, the communities in the villages to fly the Sabah flag, and I strongly agree that this campaign is not done centrically but comprehensively.

“The flag handover event on the day is also for us to realise that both our programmes in the morning and evening on Aug 31 are important.

“Thank you for the Government’s decision to correct the facts and history so that Sabah Day can finally be celebrated more openly,” he said at the Sabah State Flag Handover Ceremony in conjunction with the 2024 Sabah Day Celebration at Wisma Pertanian, here.

Among those receiving the flags were the Finance Ministry, the Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry, the Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry, the State Government Secretary’s Office, Ko-Nelayan, Kota Kinabalu City Hall and the Penampang Municipal Council.

Also present were Maffi Permanent Secretary Leonard Stephen Poyong and Deputy SUT (Management) Maria @ Marcella David Edick.
