Kota Kinabalu: Sabah director Marc Abas returns with his third film, “Mad Mamai”, a production made with almost no budget, relying solely on “mitatabang”, or a collaborative effort (gotong-royong).
Marc directed the film alongside his sons, 20-year-old Marco Nicho and 28-year-old Mark Marciano.
“This movie is a collaborative effort by young people because no one involved in it received any payment.
“Everyone – from the directors and actors to the film crew, including the stunt director, producer, and cameraman – contributed their talent, energy and time to make this film.
