Sabah FC II to get much-needed help
Kim Swee and Alto
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah FC II will be getting help from the senior team to improve their performance in the MFL Cup competition.

Sabah FC coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee said they are ready to release some Super League players for the State Under-23 squad coached by Alto Linus.

“Hopefully, this could improve their league table position because since the recent change in the coaching department, they did not have encouraging results.

“Alto Linus who has just come in will need some time to plan and improve the team’s tactics and we shouldn’t expect positive results overnight as all the players were trained by another coach before Alto.

Kota Kinabalu: Kota Kinabalu, 30th September 2024 – The Logg, a premier development by K.T.I Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of KTI Landmark Berhad., has been awarded the prestigious Integrated Development Excellence Award at the 2024 SHAREDA (Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association) event.
“However, we can see that since he (Alto) took over, there are some positive signs, but there are still some weaknesses that need to be addressed.

“We promised to release a few of the senior players who couldn’t get playing time to assist Sabah FC II in their campaign,” he said on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Alto is happy the players are beginning to adapt to his tactics and is confident the team will perform better in the remaining matches this season.

“Until now, the players are 60 to 70 per cent beginning to understand the tactics required to play in upcoming matches.

“We believe this is a very positive development and good news for the team as the season is still long. Some of the players’ weaknesses have also been identified including the technique of how they think when they are on the pitch in order to achieve victory, and we are emphasising on improving their maturity faster.”

He added that they may also bring in quality under 20-year-old players and some of the current players may be sidelined as a plan for the future.

He also said there may be some friendly matches planned for his players soon to ensure that their weaknesses can be rectified before the next match.

The league is currently taking a break and Sabah FC II’s next match is against Kelantan Darul Naim FC away on September 18.
