SEMPORNA: A wooden house at Kampung Bukit Lalang, here, was destroyed in a fire on Sunday.

The State Fire and Rescue spokesperson said the department received a distress call following the fire at 6.51pm via MERS999.

A team of firefighters from Semporna Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Semporna) rushed to the scene in a fire engine.

The team was also assisted by BBP Air Semporna.

The house was 90 per cent destroyed when the firemen arrived.

The team put the fire under control at 7.19pm.

The operation was called off at 9.06pm. There was no casualty and the cause of fire is being investigated.
