Man denies molesting 4-year-old

Kota Kinabalu: A 31-year-old man claimed trial to committing sexual physical harassment against a four-year girl.
Herman Tisi made the plea before Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan when his case was brought up for mention to record his plea.
ADVERTISEMENT Herman is accused of committing the offence against the minor by touching her private part between 6am and 8am on April 2 this year at a house in Papar.
The offence under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 provides for a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.
The prosecution asked for a new mention date and the investigating officer informed that the complainant in the case had lodged a police report to withdraw the charge against Herman.
Herman, who was not represented, asked for bail to be granted.

The court set Sept 26 for mention and released Herman on a bail of RM5,000 in two local sureties.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Shafeerah appeared for the prosecution.
