“Villagers no longer need to spend money on long trips to get to the SESB office, get correct bill readings and make payments,” Rayner said.
KIULU: The Self-Meter Reading (SMR) Pilot Project launched by Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) here on Tuesday received positive reactions from residents.
Rayner Katong from Kampung Rumindako said the project is relevant and has been eagerly awaited by residents.
ADVERTISEMENT According to him, residents previously often faced problems with inaccurate bill readings due to the difficulty for SESB meter readers to visit every house in rural areas.
“This is due to geographical factors and the long distances between villages.
“With SMR, we can manage our own meter readings and send them directly to SESB through the provided platform.

“Based on the briefing given by SESB, I find SMR to be easier and very user-friendly.

“With technological advancements, we hope this facility will be expanded further in the future to facilitate all parties involved,” she said.
