Kudat programme generates RM300,000 sales

KUDAT: The three-day Bakti Madani Kudat (PBMK) 2024 programme here attracted over 100,000 visitors and generated over RM300,000 sales for the participating traders.
The visitors came from around Kudat, Banggi, Matunggong, Kota Marudu, Kota Belud, Pitas and other nearby localities.
ADVERTISEMENT The stalls recorded as much as RM30,000 in cumulative sales, while the sales value of food and beverage stalls provided by 100 traders recorded as high as RM300,000.
The organisers also estimated the economic value that was brought in during the three-day PBMK2024 had reached RM3 million, taking into account the sales of food and beverages, accommodation, transportation, as well as the purchase of various handicrafts and souvenirs in Kudat.
Held at Tomborungus Square here from Aug 23-25, PBMK 2024 themed “Perkhidmatan untuk Rakyat” was a strategic collaboration programme between the Sabah Economic Development and Investment Authority (Sedia) and the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (Pacu) of the Prime Minister’s Department.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor officiated the event.

PBMK 2024 focused on services offered by 67 State and Federal Government agencies, government-related companies, private parties and associations.
A variety of direct services were offered to the people by agencies such as Pacu, Sedia, LHDN, JPN, Nadi, Risda, Yayasan Sabah Group, Mara, SOGDC, JPJ, ATM, PDRM, Immigration Department, DIDR Sabah, to name a few.

Meanwhile, the Mini Career Carnival (MyFutureJobs) that was held through collaboration with Perkeso recorded 324 job seekers having registered, with 168 people participating during interview sessions with 10 companies that offered job opportunities.
During the opening ceremony, Hajiji also announced that the State Government is planning to develop a Kudat Industrial Park, spanning an estimated 5,000 acres.
This inclusive development is expected to open up more job opportunities and stimulate the economy of Sabah, especially Kudat.
Sedia and Pacu expressed their deepest appreciation and gratitude to all the State and Federal Government agencies involved in making PBMK 2024 a success as well as in achieving the objectives of the programme, especially the Kudat District Office, Kudat Town Council, PDRM, Rela, APM, Kudat Health Department, SESB and others.
