LAHAD DATU: The empowerment of youths, especially young people, has always been an agenda in the development plan and the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Roadmap.
Tungku Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) Division Head Datuk Abdul Hakim Gulam Hassan said the Sabah Government provides various initiatives, assistance, and platforms to empower the role and capabilities of this group.

Abdul Hakim said that the efforts implemented by the Sabah Government are in line with an important core in the SMJ roadmap, which is human capital development.
“Young people need to strive to enhance their capabilities and take advantage of the opportunities and spaces provided by the government.

Abdul Hakim said this when met after officiating the Jalur Gemilang Flag Raising Ceremony and Free Motorcycle Refuelling Programme at Felda Sahabat 16.

Abdul Hakim said the initiatives provided by the government to help young people cover various aspects including education and business.
He said the Sabah Government also provides platforms for this group to voice any opinions and views they have.
“Various efforts have been implemented by the Sabah Government to help our young people and youth, therefore, this group needs to be aware and seize the opportunities provided,” he said.
Speaking about the programme organised by the Tungku PGRS Youth Division, Abdul Hakim said that the programme is a good initiative in further enlivening the national month celebrations.
He said that programs like this can instil a spirit of love for the country and strengthen unity among the community.
“This programme is also a good platform for us to approach youth and young people so that we can hear their voices and views,” he said.
