Tenom’s Bukit Sri Hartamas to be new landmark

Tenom: The Bukit Sri Hartamas @ Tenom development will be another landmark for the district, said Sabah Urban Development Corporation (SUDC) Chairman Datuk Jamawi Jaafar. 

He said the new development, which is a combination of commercial and residential development will surely meet the needs of the district. 

He said Tenom still require development in line with its surroundings which have attractive places to visit. 

“We know that Tenom is gradually growing, especially in economic activities, agriculture and tourism, and I am told that the residential hotels are full on weekends,” he said when met after launching Bukit Sri Hartamas @Tenom’s sales gallery here, recently.

He said with this development, it will somewhat solve the issues related to housing and accommodation.

At the same time, Jamawi, who is also the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah Division Head praised Menara Bestari Sdn Bhd and the landowners in realising the development. 

He hopes the development will be able to proceed according to schedule.

Meanwhile, the Tenom District Officer, Mas Syazwan Masood, said the new development provides job opportunities and further boosts the district’s development. 

“We plan to develop this district, for example, in terms of banking, I understand that there are a few that are ready, and there are prospects for new banking here.

“In terms of accommodation, we do have a slight shortage in the hotel industry.

“With this new project, it provides a greater opportunity for all sectors in this district,” he said.

Mas Syazwan said they aim to upgrade Pekan Tenom in line with the district’s development plan.

He believes that the development of Bukit Sri Hartamas @Tenom will help the development of Pekan Tenom. 

At the same time, he hopes that the development process of the new towns in this district, including Pekan Melalap, will be accelerated.

“If the development of the new towns can be accelerated, it will further boost the economic chain in this district,” he said. 

Meanwhile, NBLand Group Managing Director, Wong Gee Ngen, said that the Bukit Sri Hartamas @Tenom project, which is a combination of commercial and residential development, aims to modernize the district and stimulate its socioeconomic.

He said the Gross Development Value (GDV) of Bukit Sri Hartamas is RM155 million and will be completed by 2026.

“The project consists of commercial and residential development covering an area of 19.575 acres located along the main road of the town,” he said.

Wong said the project will become a landmark of modernization in Tenom, which will transform the development landscape of the district, as well as create vast employment opportunities for the local residents.

He said the project consists of 95 units of two-storey terrace houses and 32 units of two-storey semi-detached houses, while the commercial development has 72 exclusive three-story shop offices with a built-up area of more or less than 3,540 square feet per unit.

“The two-storey terrace houses have a total built-up area of 1,912 square feet and 1,872 square feet. Each house has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, while the total built-up area for the semi-detached houses is 2,170 square feet. Each house has four bedrooms and four bathrooms,” he said. 

For the facilities, Wong said the project provides more than 200 parking spaces, open spaces, and a playground.

There are various popular amenities nearby, such as three secondary schools, the Tenom Sports Complex, Alliance Bank, post office, Petronas kiosk station, supermarket and Tenom Hospital.

Wong said 85 per cent of the residential units, with prices starting from RM376, 000 have been booked, while more than 50 per cent of the shop offices have been booked with selling prices starting from RM1.2 million.
