Ilhan was thrilled to be chosen as the recipient of the award since journalism and writing is a field that he has been very keen to explore due to the fact that it can help him expand his vocabulary.
KENINGAU: A second-year Business Management student from Keningau Vocational College (KVC), Ilhan Ziqry Azimie, received the Best Article Writer Award for his work titled “To the Rescue Without a Doubt” from STKIP PGRI Pacitan, a higher education institution in Indonesia, on August 30.
The feature article, written in English, was published in the August 2024 issue of the institution’s magazine E-Magz.

It was selected as the best article for its well-explained discussion on the different viewpoints on the theme of the magazine’s August edition – “hero”.
He said heroes are individuals tasked with protecting the public from disasters, accidents, and threats, ensuring their welfare and health, and striving to prevent any loss of life.
He cites professions in the emergency services such as doctors, police officers and firefighters as examples.
The article further elaborated that volunteers and individuals who selflessly help those in need, especially during tragedies and disasters such as flash floods should be also regarded as heroes.

He pointed out how these people are always willing to sacrifice for others without expecting anything in return.
Ilhan was thrilled to be chosen as the recipient of the award since journalism and writing is a field that he has been very keen to explore due to the fact that it can help him expand his vocabulary.

The college director, Nordin Akup, congratulated the student on his achievement and hoped that this accomplishment would inspire other students to see how academic learning including writing activities can help them find more opportunities to produce creative output.
