TAWAU: Women are recognised as the driving force and the main engine for the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) in Apas to attract people’s support, leading to the party’s victory in the coming 17th State Election.

Apas Assemblyman Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan saidlooking at the Apas voter registration, which is almost 50 per cent women, he is confident that the Apas seat will remain under the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

He said that so far, there are 31,146 registered voters in the Apas constituency, and almost 50 per cent are women, and the Apas Division has many women leading the division as the division heads.

“This is an advantage for the Gagasan Rakyat here because women are a strong working group, and when they give their support, they will ensure that the support leads to success.

KOTA KINABALU: Business owners, visionary entrepreneurs, and corporate leaders from across Malaysia are set to converge at one of Sabah’s most anticipated leadership events: CEO Masterclass (CEOM) 2025, happening on the 9th and 10th of July 2025 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC). .
“I hope this momentum will continue to be maintained to ensure victory for the party in the coming election,” he said after officiating the Gagasan Rakyat Wanita Annual Delegate Conference 2024 for the Apas Division, here, on Sunday.

He said the presence of many women delegates and observers at the conference was a clear indication that the Gagasan Rakyat in the Apas constituency are on the right track and would fight tooth and nail to retain the Apas seat won by the GRS candidate.

At the same time, he is confident that women candidates will continue to be given the opportunity to contest in the coming election because under the leadership of Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as the GRS Chairman, all factors are taken into account, and the participation of women is one of the agendas that is always given attention.

Regarding the call by Gerakan Kuasa Rakyat G57 Chairman Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar, for the Umno-GRS cooperation to be maintained in the coming election, Nizam, who is also the Gagasan Rakyat Information Chief, said the non-governmental organisation has the right to give its views.

He said everyone is aware that the state leadership has no problem cooperating with any party that has the same aspirations and goals, which is to develop the state and the well-being of the people of Sabah.

However, he said, the GRS leadership would look at all factors that would give an advantage to the government chosen by the people.

When asked if the cooperation would occur again, he said that the matter could not be discussed at the moment because the Chief Minister himself had said the GRS-PH Plus government cooperation is running smoothly and well.

“We also hope that this cooperation can be continued in the future because the people can assess for themselves and will give their support because we are confident that there have been many successes, achievements and progress achieved by the current government compared to the past,” he said.

However, he added, GRS has no problem with anyone because those who made the “Langkah Kinabalu” were their own people.
