Kota Kinabalu: A worrying dangerous driving incident on the Telupid-Ranau road has gone viral on Facebook and sparked a netizens' hunt for the vehicle and its driver.

Facebook user Oohca Sainuddin Mohd Jufri uploaded on Tuesday a footage of the Monday event which occurred at 5.55 pm.

In his caption, Oohca mentioned that he is waiting for an apology from the white Vigo driver and urged viewers to share until it is found.

The post has since garnered significant attention, with over 267,000 playbacks, 900 reactions and 1,400 shares expressing outrage.

The dashcam footage shows a white Vigo recklessly overtaking other vehicles on a curvy section of the Telupid-Ranau road.

The Vigo driver can be seen crossing into the opposite lane, endangering the lives of those in both directions.

The narrow road and high speed of the Vigo made the manoeuvre particularly perilous, causing the driver of the car filming the video to take evasive action.

Many of the comments echoed shock and concern over the recklessness of the Vigo driver, especially on such a dangerous stretch of road.

One Facebook user, Hasni MJ, noted that there was a baby in the car that narrowly avoided a collision with the white Vigo, as heard in the dashcam video.

“Please don’t do this. Drive safely and ensure your safety and that of others,” the netizen added.

Numerous Facebook users have shared the post, hoping to help identify the driver of the Vigo.

Some, like netizen Afwan Sultan, bluntly wrote, "Looking for a white Hilux crazy driver."

Others, such as Facebook user Rafidah Pyda, expressed their shock and worry for the safety of the passengers in the car that captured the video.

Comments also highlighted a wider problem of irresponsible driving, with netizens calling for stricter penalties for such actions.

The post serves as a reminder of the risks involved in irrational driving, especially on the challenging mountain roads and the impact it has on the safety of road users.
