KENINGAU: Traffic congestion on Jalan Politeknik KKIP in Kota Kinabalu will gradually improve as the road will be fully usable from Wednesday, said State Works Minister Datuk Ir. Shahelmey Yahya.
“I was informed by the Sabah Public Works Department (JKR) and the contractor concerned that the damaged parts will begin to be paved from tonight (Tuesday),” he told Daily Express during a working visit to Keningau on Tuesday.
Shahelmey, who is also Deputy Chief Minister III, said he received complaints from many road users that the congestion happened because parts of the road were undergoing repair.
“Furthermore, in the last few days, the repair work was delayed due to unpredictable weather conditions. The wet ground surface made it impossible to do the work,” he said.
