Kota Kinabalu: Business is thriving in the central business district (CBD) here, especially in eateries along Gaya Street here, due to the prevailing tourism boom.
Api-Api Assemblywoman Datuk Christina Liew made this observation during her walkabout to check on the well-being of the shopkeeping community and to give out mooncakes to business owners at various locations in the city early this week.

“A business owner told me that tourists kept coming back because they loved the fresh seafood served,” she said, adding that durian vendors were also cashing in on the surge in tourist arrivals with stalls set up in the five footway outside eating establishments.
While re-visiting Kg Air, the Api-Api Assemblywoman learned from traders that business was picking up, too, post-Covid but at a slow rate.
