Kota Kinabalu: In a heartwarming and humorous incident, a restaurant owner has turned to Facebook to track down a customer who accidentally paid RM2,660 instead of RM26.60 for their meal via QR code.
The post, which quickly went viral, highlights the restaurant’s sincerity in ensuring the customer is refunded and showcases the power of social media in turning a simple mistake into a viral moment filled with light-hearted humour and community engagement.

Koji Chen, the owner of Botak Nasi Lemak in KL, made the post Sunday, which has garnered over 2,700 shares and 1,100 likes.
It includes a photo of two women at the payment counter, who might have made the overpayment.
In the post, the restaurant’s management kindly requests help in identifying the customer, as they wish to refund the excess amount.
“Is this you? You’ve mistakenly QR paid us RM2,660 for your RM26.60 bill. Help us find them so we can return the remainder to them!
"We are not ‘Botak Omakase’,” read the accompanying text on the photo, playfully comparing the experience to a high-end Japanese dining experience.
One Facebook user jokingly shared his bank account number, claiming he had also overpaid in a past visit.
The post finally reached a positive resolution when Chen confirmed in the comments that the excess payment had been returned to the rightful owner and thanked the netizens for their assistance.
