Suspected woman drug dealer held in Tawau raid

TAWAU: Police arrested a single mother suspected of being a drug dealer along with 20 packets of Syabu (methamphetamine) weighing 6.01gm estimated to be worth RM6,000, in Kg Brantian, Jalan Kalabakan, here.
Tawau District Police Chief, ACP Jasmin Hussin said the 35-year-old suspect, who is also an illegal immigrant, was detained in the living room during a police raid on a house in the village following an information.
ADVERTISEMENT He said the raid was conducted by a team of officers from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (BSJN) of the Tawau District Police Headquarters (IPD) as part of Ops Tapis.
The suspect handed over a zipped bag found to contain 20 clear plastic packets filled with crystalline substance, believed to be Syabu weighing about 6.01gm, he said.
The suspect also tested positive for Syabu.
Jasmin said the suspect is remanded to assist in the investigation under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15(1) of the same act.
