Community Development (UPPM) Leader for Sulaman, Murneh Lamsari, officiated the closing ceremony at SK Agama Kg Tambalang involving UPPM staff, residents of seven villages and the parents’ teachers association, among others.
He said society has not quite grasped the role of Komuniti Madani and therefore they use third party influencers such as the Information Department and social media.
Murneh also suggested the activity’s funding be increased by RM1,000 from the current allocation to increase the scope of the campaign and community participation.
“Administrative funds should also be increased from RM3,000 to RM5,000 to cover administrative needs, printed materials for each activity, communication links, data lines and related needs.

“Funds to carry out more activities and programmes should be credited directly to the Community’s account as a KPI to the Community leader.
“It must be followed up with printed and photo reports as well as public media reports at the community level through social media platforms to avoid misuse of allocated funds,” he said.

Overall, Murneh said, the programme was able to stir patriotic spirit and love of the country among the people in conjunction with the celebration of National Day and Malaysia Day 2024 and help them become a strategic partner to the government in providing services directly to the people.
