TAMBUNAN: A win-win situation cooperation between Koperasi Star Sabah Berhad with Safma and  S4S Digital Sdn Bhd will get a commensurate return from the sale of frozen fish products and open up new marketing opportunities, said Deputy Chief Minister 1, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.

“The success of this collaboration will be a benchmark to open the next step,” he said while speaking at the launch of the Sales of Frozen Fish Products and Fish Food by Koperasi Star Sabah Berhad in collaboration with Safma Quality Seafood Sdn Bhd at the IKS hall here, recently.

He also asked the members of the cooperative to take the opportunity to work hard for the success of the Cooperative and SAFMA.

Jeffrey, who is also the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry, said the collaboration is also a follow-up to the launch of the ‘Ikan Rakyat’ program by his Ministry and Safma in Kota Kinabalu recently.

SHAH ALAM: Fact: Every time Malaysians travel abroad, we almost immediately miss the taste of home. You don’t need to be homesick to celebrate Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage when you can savor the authentic taste of Malaysia in your own home with Ayam Brand™  cooking pastes.
Following the programme, he said, Safma has chosen Tambunan as the first location outside of Kota Kinabalu to promote its fresh frozen produce.

“In line with the purpose of the ‘ikan rakyat’ programme itself, people outside the city, especially in Tambunan, have the opportunity to enjoy quality fish brought directly from Safma at a reasonable price.

“Before this, we were aware that most of the fish marketed in Tambunan have been sold through third parties and the prices are expensive and the quality not satisfactory,” he said.

He hopes that with the launch of the programme, people will have the opportunity to make healthy eating choices, especially protein in their daily meals.

In addition to working with Safma, he said, the people also had the opportunity to witness the MoU signing ceremony between Koperasi Star Sabah and S4S Digital Sdn Bhd.

“The purpose of this MoU is to collaborate in the use of the S4S Digital Programme in cooperative transactions.

“Hopefully with this collaboration, Koperasi Star Sabah will be more efficient and transparent in transactions, especially in the use of digital devices and applications,” he said.

Also present at the event were Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Abidin Madingkir, Assistant Minister of Community Development and People’s Well-Being, Datuk Flovia Ng, Chairman of Sabah Fish Marketing Sdn Bhd (Safma), Mohammad Mohamarin, District Officer, Sobitun Makajil, Secretary of Sabah Star Cooperative Berhad, Datuk Dr Saiman Sandah, General Manager of Safma, Syed Mohd Hamizan Roslan and Director of S4S Digital Sdn Bhd, Drs Haji Minggu Haji Juman.
