Charged with molesting 4 women: Government servant pleads not guilty to 6 counts
The offence under Section 354 of the Penal Code carries for a jail term of up to 10 years, or with fine or with whipping or with any two of such punishments, on conviction.
Kota Kinabalu: A 45-year-old government servant was charged with six counts of molesting four women.

Supian Buang pleaded not guilty to all charges against him when he was brought separately before  Magistrate Dzul Helmy Yunus and Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin.

On the first to sixth count,  Supian allegedly molested the women aged 20, 25, 28, 29, in 2021, 2022 and 2023 in the office, outside of houses and inside cars, respectively.

The offence under Section 354 of the Penal Code carries for a jail term of up to 10 years, or with fine or with whipping or with any two of such punishments, on conviction.

Dzul Helmy offered Supian bail of RM1,400 with two local sureties, one of them must be a government servant, for each charge on the first to third count.

Meanwhile, Marilyn released Supian on bail of RM1,000 in two local sureties for each charge for the fourth to sixth count.

Supian’s cases would be mentioned on Oct 23. Deputy Public Prosecutor Atiqa Nazihah Azmi appeared for the prosecution while counsel Luke Ressa Balang defended Supian.

Meanwhile a 28-year-old mechanic was charged with causing grievous hurt to another man with a helmet.

Leroy O’brien Hendry pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim, when the charge was read to him on Friday.

He is accused of assaulting Daniel Cagot Pasumala with the helmet at 8pm on Aug 23 in front of the gate of Kilang Gardenia KKIP in Sepanggar, near here.

The offence under Section 326 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 20 years, and liable to a fine or whipping, on conviction.

The court set Oct 26 for mention and released Leroy on bail of RM10,000 in two local sureties and to report to the Alam Mesra police station once a month.

Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor(DPP) DK  Atiqah Alya offered bail of RM10,000 with several conditions.

Leroy who was not represented, asked for a lower bail saying that his income is low and needed to pay debts.

Meanwhile, in the Magistrate’s Court, a 23-year-old man claimed trial to threatening to cause hurt to two family members.

Nurazmi Noorjali made the plea before Magistrate Wan Farrah Farriza Wan Ghazali when the charge was read to him.

He is accused of threatening to cause injury to Nurul Syafiqah Nasip, 30, and Punya Tullah, 72, at 5pm on July 11 at a house in Kg Sembulan Lama, near here.

Nurazmi was released on bail of RM3,000 in two local sureties and report to the nearest police station once a month as well as not to tamper with the prosecution witnesses.

Dpp Atiqa Nazihah Azmi prosecuted while Jagnesh Jaya defended Nurazmi.
