Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew reportedly said the region welcomed 1.7 million tourists from January to July 2024.
She said Chinese tourists once again topped the international visitors list.
She emphasised the collaboration between Sabah and Sarawak to promote Borneo as Malaysia’s tourism charm.
Liew said this at a joint press conference with Sarawak Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah after the official opening the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) Fair in Kuala Lumpur, Saturday.
