Kota Kinabalu: A kind teacher who baked a "kek batik" for a special birthday celebration for all his students has gained online attention. 

The TikTok video shows the teacher, Mr Ali, preparing the traditional cake using luxurious ingredients.

"Today, I am creating another moment with my students by making kek batik to celebrate all the birthdays in my Year Five class.

“I often see them bringing cakes and pastries to school, and when asked, they say they want to celebrate their classmates’ birthdays. 

“So, this time, I joined them by making kek batik and ordering fried chicken because they requested it,” Mr Ali says in the video.

The video has since attracted 1.8 million views, 195,400 likes and 1,078 comments.

“The teacher used Patchi chocolate for the kek batik—so fancy!" notes one netizen.

To top it off, he placed a whole Patchi chocolate as a decoration on the cake. 

The heartwarming moment captured the attention of many, with viewers praising Mr Ali’s dedication and generosity.
