Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for Syarikat Kumpulan BTC Berhad’s new food and bread processing plant during a visit to the factory at Bangunan Darul BTC, Jalan Tuaran Bypass, Inanam, here, Saturday.
Hajiji also witnessed the exchange of Memorandum of Understanding between the BTC Group and the Sabah Maju Jaya Secretariat for rural industrialisation programmes for the hardcore poor and Letter of Intent involving Akademi Binaan Malaysia (ABM) Sabah and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

The Letter of Intent between BTC and UMS involves the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition as a strategic partner to assist in development and research to improve product quality, as well as providing opportunities and space for graduates to undergo practical training.
Meanwhile, the Letter of Intent with ABM will see the entity supplying skilled and semi-skilled workforce to BTC, in addition to honing the abilities of existing staff. Hajiji, accompanied by BTC Group Berhad Managing Director, Datuk Abdul Kadir M.E. Sikkandar, was taken on a tour of the factory and interacted cordially with its employees.
