Kota Kinabalu: K.T.I. Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of KTI Landmark Berhad, has made a significant impact in the Sabah construction industry by recently securing prestigious awards from the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).

The company achieved an impressive Qlassic score for its Taman Seri Lemawang in Tuaran and was awarded the Special Award of Excellence in Construction for Sabah Qlassic Programme 2023 during the CIDB Sabah Awards Ceremony held on 4th September 2024 in Hilton Hotel, Kota Kinabalu, reflecting its commitment to excellence in construction quality and performance.

The Qlassic award, given for the Taman Seri Lemawang housing project, highlights KTI’s dedication to superior construction standards, marking a notable achievement in its quality excellence journey.

The Qlassic system, which evaluates construction projects on factors such as workmanship and architectural integrity, required KTI to navigate several challenges.

These included rigorous supervision, quality assurance, skilled craftsmanship, and adherence to stringent material standards.

The adoption of the Integrated Building System (IBS) was pivotal, ensuring consistency and minimizing construction flaws through factory-produced components.

“This Qlassic award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality and innovation,” said Wilson Loke, Group Executive Director of KTI Landmark Berhad.

“It not only reflects our high standards in construction but also enhances public confidence in our projects. We are proud to demonstrate the effectiveness of the IBS method, which has played a crucial role in meeting the stringent criteria required for this award.”

In addition to the Qlassic achievement, KTI was also recognised with a 4-star CIDB SCORE for 2023.

This score, an improvement from the company’s previous 3-star ratings in 2018 and 2020, evaluates contractors on various criteria including workmanship quality, project timeliness, cost management, safety, environmental impact, and overall project management.

The 4-star rating underscores KTI’s continuous efforts to enhance its operational standards and industry positioning.

“The CIDB award is a crucial benchmark in the construction industry, and our improved rating is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to excellence,” Wilson Loke added.

“This achievement serves as a motivational milestone for us as we aim for a 5-star rating in the upcoming assessment. It reinforces our goal of achieving even higher standards and delivering exceptional value in all our projects.”

Taman Seri Lemawang, located in Tuaran, Sabah, features 811 double-storey house units starting from RM250,000, complemented by modern amenities such as a central park, jogging track, basketball courts, gazebos, and a playground.

This development is part of a larger 168-acre site, which also includes Residensi Seri Akasia with 480 apartment units priced from RM150,000, and Plaza Lemawang’s 60 shoplot units priced from RM608,000.

The development is KTI’s commitment to affordable housing through a significant collaboration with Lembaga Pembangunan Perumahan dan Bandar (LPPB).

Additionally, KTI has partnered with the Unit Perumahan Penjawat Awam Malaysia (PPAM) to enable eligible civil servants to purchase homes at Blocks E and F of Residensi Seri Akasia at attractive prices through the Insentif Madani initiative.

This facility builds on KTI’s previous success with the PPAM housing programme in the Puncak Gloxinia project in Kinarut and will extend to the upcoming Taman Seraya project in Sandakan.

In addition to 559 home owners of Taman Seri Lemawang obtaining their keys since 2022, recently the residents of Residensi Seri Akasia received their house keys from Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, on August 10, 2024, which marked a significant milestone for KTI.

The event not only celebrated the completion of Blocks A and B of the project but also highlighted KTI’s role in advancing Sabah’s urban development in affordable housing.

K.T.I. Sdn Bhd’s recent CIDB accolades highlight its strong commitment to quality and performance in the construction industry.

As the company continues to set ambitious benchmarks, it remains dedicated to refining its practices and striving for even greater success in future projects.
