SANDAKAN: The third Sepilok Jazz at the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) here drew an impressive crowd of over 1,500 over two nights.

It celebrated not only the richness of jazz music but also Sabah’s natural heritage and officiated by Member of Parliament for Sandakan, Vivian Wong.

Vivian praised Foster Turtles, Education and Research achievement which released more than 43,000 baby turtles into the ocean from Libaran Island since its establishment.

“This is not just a number, it is a testament to the impact that dedicated individuals and supportive communities can have when they work together towards a common goal.

KUCHING: Thailand Week is set to make its first-ever appearance in Kuching, happening from July 31st to August 3rd, 2025, at the Center Court and Second Floor of The Spring Shopping Mall.
Each turtle released represents hope, survival, and the continuation of a species that has existed for millions of years.

“However, the journey does not end here. The threats to our sea turtles remain ever- present, from habitat destruction to the perils of plastic pollution. Foster’s mission is crucial, and it cannot succeed without the support of each and every one of us.

The festival featured a stellar line-up of artists who captivated the audience with their performances, including Soulcutz (Australia), Mabel Air Jazz (the Philippines), Tonal Alchemy (Penang, Malaysia), Le’Lucky (Sabah, Malaysia) and winners of Bakat Sepilok Jazz-Suave Swing and Trinity Jazz Band.

Since its inception in 2022, Sepilok Jazz has grown into one of the most anticipated cultural events here.

The festival has consistently offered a unique platform that not only showcases mesmerizing jazz performances but also raises awareness and funds or vital environmental and conservation efforts, particularly sea turtle conservation on Libaran Island.

This year’s edition continued the tradition of uniting music lovers, environmentalists, and the local community in a shared mission to protect Sabah’s natural heritage.

The event provided a meaningful platform to highlight the ongoing challenges faced by conservation efforts and the crucial role of community involvement in safeguarding Sabah’s unique biodiversity.

The third Sepilok Jazz was a resounding success, further solidifying its reputation as a key event that beautifully intertwines art and nature, making a lasting impact on the cultural and environmental landscape of Sabah.
